Edge page overview¶
The Edge page shows everything about one Edge and is where you monitor its assets, change its configuration, send commands and manage operator access.
To open it, click an Edge name on the Edges page.
Header¶
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Title | The Edge name. |
| Subtitle | The Edge's site and group, as Site / Group. |
| Back to edges | Returns to the Edges list. |
| Badges | Online or Offline, and the status: Pending, Active or Deactivated. |
Below the header is the tab bar. The portal keeps the selected tab in the page address, so you can bookmark or share a link to a tab.

Overview¶
| Section | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Metadata | Details the Edge reported, such as host name, operating system, architecture and Edge software version. |
| Capabilities | What this Edge's software supports. A connector.<protocol> entry, such as connector.opcua or connector.modbus-tcp, means the Edge can read that protocol. cmd.<name> entries list the commands it accepts. None reported. means the Edge has not reported in yet. |
| Certificate | The Serial and Expires date of the Edge's current certificate. It renews automatically. |
| Status history | The latest 50 events for this Edge, such as enrollment, approval and deactivation, with time and source IP. |
| Deactivate | Owner and Admin only. Disconnects the Edge for good. |
Check Capabilities before you add an asset: if the protocol you need is not listed, the Edge cannot read it.
Deactivate an Edge¶
- On the Overview tab, find the Deactivate section.
- Type the Edge name exactly as shown.
- Click Deactivate.
The Edge disconnects and cannot connect again with its certificate. It stays in the Edges list with status Deactivated and its history is kept. The portal has no delete action for Edges.
Assets¶
A table of the devices this Edge reads, with Name, Protocol, Health, Metrics (tag count) and Last seen. Click an asset name to open its live values and charts. See Assets, tags and live values.
Config¶
The Edge's own configuration layer: Template, Version (blank is latest published), Variables, one name=value per line and Overrides JSON, with Save layer and Preview render. Use it for settings that apply to this Edge only, such as a PLC address. See Edge configuration.
Discovery¶
The tag lists the Edge browsed from its devices, as checkboxes. Select tags and click Add as Edge override or Add as metrics on template. See Discover tags.
Commands¶
Buttons Rebirth (Operator and above) and Collect diagnostics (Owner), and a table of commands with Kind, State, Created and Error. Commands started from an asset page, such as Rediscover and Restart connector, also appear here. See Edge commands.
Incidents¶
Alarm incidents for this Edge, with Alarm, Severity, Asset, Metric, Opened, Closed and Ack. See Alarms and incidents.
Access¶
Time-limited access for operators who use the Privitty App: choose an App, Starts and Ends, tick Remote access and or Device commands, then click Grant access. Existing grants are listed with Revoke and, after a failed join, Retry. See Grant access to an Edge.
